History of Walcott Water
In 1970 Ross Walcott founded Walcott
Water. He started up his dealership in his own home on the southside
of Janesvilee WI. In the 80's Jerry Guse had started L.T.M. Water
in Machesney Park, IL. The two owner's respected each other and
worked well together. Ross at times would send his water professionals
down to L.T.M. Water to be trained in the water treatment industry.
The two friends would help each other out when one or the other
was short on inventory. In 1985 Steve Pierce, L.T.M. Water's service
manager, died unexpectantly, and Ross was kind enough to send some
of his service people down to L.T.M. to take up the slack until
Jerry could hire a new serviceman. In 1989 Ryan Walcott joined his
father at Walcott Water. In 1994 Ross bought J And L Soft Water
out of Clinton, WI. In 1996 Ross built the new building for Walcott
Water on Milton Ave., right off I-90. At the time of Ross wanting
to sell his business, his dealership territory consisted of Dane,
Jefferson, Walworth, Green, and Rock counties. In the spring of
2000 Ross sold his business to the man that had the same feelings
that Ross had about his customers, that is, give them quality, and
treat them honestly. In 2000 Jerry Guse bought the business and
out of respect for his friend renamed the business Walcott-LTM Water.
Now Walcott-LTM Water has a satellite office at 2116 Center Ave.
in Janesville where customers can buy filters and salt. The main
corporate offices are headquartered at 8418 N. Second Street in
Machesney Park, IL. Walcott/LTM Water has received the prestigious Better Business Bureaus of Chicago and Northern Illinois Complaint Free Award on numerous occasions.
